Trump pulls back troops from northern Syria ahead of Turkish assault, Pentagon officials ‘blindsided’

The White House announced late Sunday that Turkey will soon move forward with a planned military operation in northeast Syria, as U.S. troops who have been deployed and operating with Kurdish-led forces in the area began pulling back from their positions.

The decision sent shockwaves through the region and Washington, with U.S. officials telling Fox News that top Pentagon officials were “completely blindsided” and “shocked” by the order to pull back hundreds of U.S. troops, a move that effectively green-lights the Turkey operation. President Trump spoke with Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan by telephone.

Some officials see the move as a betrayal of the Kurds, whom the U.S. supported against ISIS for years.

Speaking on “Fox & Friends” Monday morning, Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., called it an “impulsive decision” by Trump that would undo U.S. gains in the region and give ISIS fighters a “second lease on life.”

He tweeted: “If press reports are accurate this is a disaster in the making.”

  1. I am still unable to grasp the realities of this discussion, in considering the timing of the Sixth Trumpet war. Assuming that might come about within the next couple of years and sooner, I am amazed that this ministry is going on excitedly about how many news groups will gather ‘round us to find out what the “7 years until …” actually means.

We are accustomed to reading the Bible at the parts that say “23,000 were killed in one day” this is vastly different from a nuclear war which wipes out one third of mankind (for the zpolitically correct, that does include women). There will be acres and acres of bodies to clean up, cemeteries filled to the edges, rivers full of bodies, hospitals overwhelmed—assuming there are any qualified professionals left to care for incoming patients still alive; police and firefighters on their last breath, still in uniform; markets running out of food and that, even radioactive. Services like telephone, internet, buses and gas stations severely limited because no one is alive to come to work. Are we still thinking that TV stations will be sending out signals successfully as usual, if a high percentage of their employees are dead? and while the world is gasping their last breath?

I notice that folks accustomed to taking selfies on the edge of a cliff are not in touch with reality; they just assume the cliff behind them is a picture on their screen, and thus fall to their death. There are obviously people here who will get out of bed, slip on clothes and go to their iPhone thinking that life goes as usual. Will the food in grocery stores be edible? Will refrigerators be working? Will disease be encroaching after such catastrophes? After such a war, who will be left to go through the tribulation? I’m just not sure that any food storage for emergencies will be useable after all. A family of five might be left a family of two. Wake up folks, this is not the movies.

Once it is announced that, following the peace agreement there are seven years remaining will the stores be emptied and houses abandoned? Not everyone is such times will be law abiding.

When my mother was young, her little area in Canada went through a rapture upheaval, when people actually sold their homes and lived in tents on a hill waiting for the Lord to appear. What will happen to people who hear one of these days that they might have a few years left, if they are not founded in reality there could be chaos simply because folks will be out for their own profit.

Think carefully about your timing in announcing such things to people not informed about scripture and the future, and the results of such predictions.

This is a strange strategy. Is anyone sure, why the strategy of removal of troops is happening now? I’m only sure of how to continue to pray, “God’s will be done” and I’m sure that President Trump is our president…”for such a time as this” and to accomplish God’s will. But prayers for and God’s hand on the Kurdish Christians!
