Iran’s foreign minister cancels attendance at Davos summit

Iran’s top diplomat has cancelled his trip and will not be attending the Davos Forum, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said Monday amid a crisis with Washington and disputes with Europe over Iran’s nuclear steps.

The summit in the Swiss resort also comes after Iran earlier this month shot down a Ukrainian passenger plane, killing all 176 people on board. Tensions also remain high between Iran and the U.S. after an American drone killed Revolutionary Guard Gen. Qassem Soleimani in Baghdad.

Iran’s top diplomat, Mohammad Javad Zarif, had been invited and plans had been made for him to attend the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said.

    Greetings,
If we view the events with Iran, and how some of the major powers of the EU are reacting, then it would seem that Iran is just another step in getting the Christian countries of Europe, to join with the Islam states of Arabia, to bring about a United Nations union of countries (See: Zech. 1:8) to begin to bring about the process of bringing about a time of peace on earth. Preceding that of the coming of the Son of Man. This is also evident in that, in Daniel, we see the king of the north (European Christianity), and the king of the south (Islam) meeting at one table to sort of work things out between them for a time. Actually, it seems that they have already started, with some 25 EU countries meeting in Egypt with the same number of the Arab Union. To “work out their differences”. One of the points discussed was the fate of Jerusalem, which as we know, they will fight over in the future. (See: Luke 21:20)
    Take care and the best.
    Ray
