Czech lawmakers unanimously pass Irish Lisbon Treaty
The Czech Chamber of Deputies today unanimously approved the Irish opt-out from the Lisbon Treaty which guarantees the preservation of neutrality and national control of taxes and abortions to Dublin.
All 150 deputies present supported the opt-out, for whose passing the constitutional majority, at least 120 of the Chamber’s 200 members, was required.
The previous Chamber of Deputies discussed the Irish opt-out last June, but the approval procedure could not be completed as the Chamber was dissolved in August as a step toward early elections.
