Pope Francis is quoted in a new published book saying that having gays in the clergy “is something that worries me” and remarking that some societies are considering homosexuality a “fashionable” lifestyle.

“In consecrated life and priestly life, there is no place for this kind of affection,” he is quoted as saying in the Spanish-language book, “La Fuerza de la Vocacion” or “The Strength of Vocation”.

Italian daily Corriere della Sera’s website Saturday ran excerpts of the book in the form of an interview that Francis gave about religious vocations. Francis was quoted as describing homosexuality within the walls of seminaries, convents and other religious places where clergy live as “a very serious question.”

“In our societies, it even seems homosexuality is fashionable. And this mentality, in some way, also influences the life of the church,” Francis was quoted as telling his interviewer, a Spanish-born missionary priest, Fernando Prado.

The book, based on four hours of conversations the two had in August at the Vatican, will be published in 10 languages next week.

    Dear Reverend Baxter,
    The notion that homosexuality in the church among the clergy is simply “worriesome” the pope leaves me to conclude that he doesn’t have a firm grasp or understanding of the gravity of this issue. Does he not understand how God regards this lifestyle as an abomination which is stated in the scriptures about a dozen times? I get the feeling that the Pope, like so many others in authority whether religious or political, simply lack the courage to call it for what it is, and that it’s an abomination to the Lord. But I guess they are more afraid of offending people than they are of fearing God.

    Look in THE BIBLE and see what the LORD say about the life style you are talking about. He says they will NOT be ENTERING HEAVEN. Who are you going to BELIEVE? ETERNITY IS A LONG, LONG TIMES!!!!!!!!!!

    The following is about the Catholic Eucharist and St. Peter’s Basilica:
    Catholic Catechism 1395 says the Eucharist preserves us from mortal sin, 1397 says the Eucharist commits us to the poor, 1411 says only validly ordained Priests can preside at the Eucharist, 1414 says as sacrifice the Eucharist is also offered in reparation for the sins of the living and the dead and to obtain spiritual or temporal benefits from God, 1416 says Communion with the Body and Blood of Christ increases union with the Lord, forgives venial sins, and preserves us from grave sins and since receiving this Sacrament strengthens the bonds of charity between the communicant and Christ, and that it also reinforces the unity of the Church as the Mystical Body of Christ, but nowhere did Jesus or his disciples say that keeping the Lord’s Supper forgives venial sins, preserves us from mortal sins, commits us to the poor, that only a Catholic Priest can preside over the Lord’s Supper, or is reparation for sins of the living and of the dead. But Jesus did say at the Last Supper in Matthew 26:28, Mark 14:20, Luke 22:19, 1 Corinthians 11:23-25, and John 6:52-53 do this in REMEMBRANCE of me and if you do not do it, you have no life in you. He never said, nor did his disciples say keeping the Lord’s Supper does any of the above. Deuteronomy 4:2,”You shall NOT add unto the word which I command you, neither shall you diminish from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.” Revelation 22:18-19,”For I testify unto every man that hears the words of the prophesy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book. (19) And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophesy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” Every word in Catholic Catechism fits in with those 2 scriptures. The Apostle Paul said in Galatians 1:12 that he was not taught by man but was taught directly by Jesus Christ himself which means that everything Paul said was exactly what Jesus told him to say. In Galatians 1:8-9 Paul said,”But though we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be ACCURSED.” Paul was so adamant about that, that he repeated himself in verse 9,”As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that you have received, let him be accursed.”
    Hosea 4:6,”My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you shall be no Priest unto me, since you have forgotten the laws of your God, I will also forget your children.”
    The Catholic Church says Peter was their first Pope – which is not possible because the Catholic Church did not exist at that time, that the Church was founded on Peter, that Peter’s authority was “handed down” to the Popes that were appointed after him, that Peter traveled to Rome – St Peter’s Basilica in Rome is dedicated to Peter and that Peter is buried under the floor, but there is no scriptural evidence whatsoever that Peter ever traveled to Rome, or even close to Rome. Reference for the following information is “Wikipedia – St. Peter’s Basilica”, “Wikipedia – Peter In Rome”, and “Pope Peter Fraud – Ex-Catholics for Christ”: In Wikipedia under the subtitle “Rome”, (in Peter in Rome) it states Bible Scholar Otto Zwierlein did 2 exhaustive studies in 2009 and 2013 and stated there is not a single piece of reliable evidence that Peter was ever in Rome. Wikipedia states that St. Peter’s Basilica is 448′ at the top of the dome, is the tallest dome in the world, and is the largest Church in the world. With the information above about Peter not ever being in Rome – it makes St. Peter’s Basilica the grandest and biggest Architectural hoax in history.

    Hello Cathy B.

    Mark 10:6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;
    8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

    God created them Male and Female, people are not born homosexual, they are born either male or female and it is God’s grand design that a man and a woman are joined together. Then God said let no man put asunder.
