New BioID PhotoVerify Web Service Provides Convenient and Secure Identity Proofing

The multimodal biometrics service provider launched PhotoVerify as part of the BioID Web Service (BWS) and is now available.The new technology promises a convenient and economical tool for many different online services such as: registration for online banking, electronic document signing, online renewal of identity documents and online examinations — without sacrificing privacy, costing a fortune, or including an overly complicated process. The refined API uses two live facial images against an image from a photo ID. It works to ensure these images are actually that of a live person, not a previously recorded video or photo in order to prevent fraud. Without the hassle of registration or a costly external service, the verification process uses the ID photo and matches it to the live person.
