Netanyahu sets off for World Economic Forum in Davos

Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu departed Wednesday morning for the Swiss Alpine resort of Davos where he will speak before about 2,500 participants in the annual World Economic Forum. Netanyahu is leading an economic delegation that does not include Finance Minister Moshe Kachlon or Bank of Israel Governor Karnit Flug. The main topics at this year’s event are “the fourth industrial revolution” and the risks facing the global economy this year. US Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State John Kerry as well as recently-elected Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, British Prime Minister David Cameron and many other leaders will also attend. However, a number of top officials are skipping the event, such as Russian President Vladimir Putin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande and senior officials from China and North Korea.
