Israeli summit deducts: Cyber terrorism world’s greatest threat

Cyber terrorism is shaping up as the greatest threat to world security, Israeli, European and Asian comptrollers said at a seminar hosted on Tuesday by Israel’s State Comptroller Yosef Shapira.At a meeting with President Reuven Rivlin, state comptrollers and heads of regional ombudsman institutions from the US, Austria, Estonia, Finland, Germany, India, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Spain, and Sweden, commended the Israel State Comptroller’s initiative, emphasized the importance of global cooperation in fighting cyber influences, spoke of the need for awareness and resilience at all levels of society and said that they had learned a lot and would take the new information home with them.Be the first to know – Join our Facebook page.Rivlin to JPost: India won’t let anyone threaten Israel’s right to existRivlin, as an outspoken champion of democracy and a former Speaker of the Knesset, said “the job of defending democracy is not an easy one” especially when it demanded “keeping the highest standards of public service.”The State Comptroller needs the skin of an elephant because nobody likes to be criticized, said Rivlin, who characterized the State Comptroller’s Office as “a fourth branch of government.”  He described the State Comptroller’s Office in Israel as “independent, efficient and strong,” remarking at how it investigates issues in real time.
