With two hours still to go before the voting ends in Israel’s general election Tuesday, March 17, DEBKAfile quotes observers of the two leading parties, Binyamin Netanyahu’s Likud and the Yitzhak Herzog’s pposition Zionist Union poied for a photo finish with Herzog still holding a slight edge.. More than 56 percent of the 5.8 eligible voters had cast their ballots by 1900 hours. Those observers also report that Moshe Kahlon’s new Kulani party is gaining ground as the balloting goes on, while Avigdor Lieberman will be lucky if his Israeli Beitenu beats the electoral threshold of 3.25 percent. The three TV stations will release exit polls at 2200 hours.
