Greenblatt: Israelis, Palestinians Will Have to Compromise

The US White House Middle East peace envoy, Jason Greenblatt, told Israeli officials that the US administration will soon announce the details of the “Deal of the Century,” political sources close to the matter in Tel Aviv said on Sunday.

According to the sources, Greenblatt said all the information and details published so far about the US initiative were incorrect and inaccurate.

His comments were made during a meeting in London that was organized by the UK Association for the Wellbeing of Israel’s Soldiers, sources said.

After returning from Israel, where he carried out talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the peace plan, Greenblatt stated that the Trump administration was not looking for an interim agreement between Israel and the Palestinians as it wanted to try and change the status quo.

“Neither side will like all that is written in the peace plan and there will be a need to compromise,” Greenblatt reportedly said at the closed event.

“But we are certain that if both sides agree to enter into negotiations, they will understand why we reached the conclusions that will be presented in the peace plan.”
