Christian colleges and the LGBTQ dilemma

Stand fast … don’t yield. That’s the advice of one Christian apologist to faith-based colleges and universities that are struggling with increasing pressure from homosexual activists to abandon biblical morality.

One would think it would be the shortest conversation of all time:

Question: “Will you recognize and allow same-sex relationships on your Christian campus?”

Answer: “No.”

But one after another, traditionally strong, Bible-based institutions are stumbling. Azusa Pacific University in Southern California is the latest case in point. The administration said it would bless same-sex romances – but sexual activity was out of bounds. Not long afterward, the Board of Trustees reversed that decision, claiming there was a “miscommunication” between the school and the board. But the school continues to dialogue with an emboldened vocal minority. (See earlier story)

The Los Angeles Times reports other Christian colleges are also trying to navigate the same stormy waters. It specifically mentions Pepperdine University and Biola University – both, like APU, based in Southern California.

OneNewsNow spoke with Dr. Alex McFarland of Truth for a New Generation. “Christian colleges would do well to remember what prompted their founding in the first place,” says the Christian apologist and educator. “Christian education is predicated on the belief that God and his Word are the starting place for knowledge and wisdom.”

Like John the Baptist, our King Jesus (Yeshua) came preaching first the Kingdom of God. He proclaimed, “Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand.” Throughout His ministry He advised those He healed to stop sinning. To one He said, “Stop sinning or something worse will happen to you.” It is clear where King Jesus (Yeshua) stands on the issue of sin. He came to uphold the Law (the Torah). The Law states that sinners are condemned by their own actions. King Jesus said that our thoughts can also be sins. If a man or a woman lusts after another, then that person has committed adultery already. It is a tragic moment in time to see so many denominations of the Christian faith buckle under the weight of the pressures of sinners. However, the prophets warned of this very thing happening as the end of the age draws near.

Jesus does not recognize “denominations” that are all more or less corrupt.
He only recognizes his disciples and teaches them how
they have to recognize each other:

Matt.23:8 But *ye*, be not ye called Rabbi; for one is your instructor, and all *ye* are brethren.
:9 And call not [any one] your father upon the earth; for one is your Father, he who is in the heavens.
:10 Neither be called instructors, for one is your instructor, the Christ.
:11 But the greatest of you shall be your servant.

LGBT people embracing sodom and gomorrah is a biblical prophesy, a generation of wicked and sinners moving against the natural law and against the word of God, how almighty God’s in his time punish this kind of wickedness, that they are missusing the word discrimination, by donating millions to corrupt politicians.

  3. Picking on gays and keeping them out of the Kingdom – how Nobel ETM. Read Matthew 19:12 and repent. (Don’t seek Doug Novells advice here since the extent of his exegesis doesn’t move beyond cutting & pasteing from Merriam Webster. Jesus used the term 3 different ways but Doug disagrees. )

      Hello Lane,
Here is a cut and paste showing the difference between what Jesus said and other scripture that speaks of Homosexuality.

1 Corinthians 6:9 International Standard Version
You know that wicked people will not inherit the kingdom of God, don’t you? Stop deceiving yourselves! Sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexuals.

      Matthew 19:12 International Standard Version
because some men are celibate from birth, while some are celibate because they have been made that way by others. Still others are celibate because they have made themselves that way for the sake of the kingdom from heaven. Let anyone accept this who can.”

Here is a warning of the times we live in and what people will do with sound doctrine: 1 Timothy 4:1
Now the Spirit expressly states that in later times some will abandon the faith to follow deceitful spirits and the teachings of demons,

2 Timothy 3:1This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

      2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

  4. All of this happens because this has not been kept:
Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world,..

Jer.15:19 Therefore thus saith Jehovah: If thou return, then will I bring thee again, thou shalt stand before me; and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth.

Jesus said to repent of your sins and be baptized and you could enter the Kingdom. The LBJ QT or Whatever it’s called is not repenting they’re celebrating it, making months out of it and trying to get us to conform to their sins. I may have sins I am struggling with but I do not advertise it and make a month out of it and celebrate it! We are not condemning the people they are condemning themselves. We are just standing for the word of God. It is not our place to judge them, we are warning of impending judgment.
