Christian colleges and the LGBTQ dilemma

Christian colleges and the LGBTQ dilemmaStand fast … don’t yield. That’s the advice of one Christian apologist to faith-based colleges and universities that are struggling with increasing pressure from homosexual activists to abandon biblical morality.

One would think it would be the shortest conversation of all time:

Question: “Will you recognize and allow same-sex relationships on your Christian campus?”

Answer: “No.”

But one after another, traditionally strong, Bible-based institutions are stumbling. Azusa Pacific University in Southern California is the latest case in point. The administration said it would bless same-sex romances – but sexual activity was out of bounds. Not long afterward, the Board of Trustees reversed that decision, claiming there was a “miscommunication” between the school and the board. But the school continues to dialogue with an emboldened vocal minority. (See earlier story)

The Los Angeles Times reports other Christian colleges are also trying to navigate the same stormy waters. It specifically mentions Pepperdine University and Biola University – both, like APU, based in Southern California.

OneNewsNow spoke with Dr. Alex McFarland of Truth for a New Generation. “Christian colleges would do well to remember what prompted their founding in the first place,” says the Christian apologist and educator. “Christian education is predicated on the belief that God and his Word are the starting place for knowledge and wisdom.”
