  1. The generation that will not pass, that is the part that ties it all together. And in Luke he is simply telling us to not only watch Israel, but watch all the other countries as well. REMEMBER, JESUS is telling us that there is a specific generation to look for. We will agree, to disagree. I just don’t believe that anyone under the age of 72 years of age, will die of old age. Some things just are not as twisty and turny as you may think. Somethings are as simple as you can read them.

      I will not argue the point, you said Dave Robbins did give you an explanation and attacked his teaching. I simply gave you the facts. If you read carefully, Jesus says the generation that will not pass, is the generation that sees the Abomination of Desolation and the Great Tribulation. The fig tree is not the birth of Israel and the scripture does not say that or back it up.

  2. Dave tells us that the popular interpitation of the fig tree is wrong, he makes the mistake of not giving a better one. A good preacher never makes that mistake. A great preacher will simply say that hes not sure, or that he does not have a better answer. Dave, don’t do that! You just might be calling JESUS a liar.

      First of all he did give you a better one. Dave explained that this was Jesus simply saying the way you know summer is near, is when you see the fig trees starting to blossom. So, Jesus is giving an example that the signs he gave on the Olivet Discourse is how you will know that the Lord will be returning soon.
      Secondly, Dave explained that Luke translated what Jesus said the fig tree and all the trees, so to take just the words of Matthew and say Jesus is talking about Israel being the fig tree, that isn’t a true statement, when Jesus was just talking about trees blooming and knowing the seasons are changing; Luke 21:29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
      30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.

      Third and lastly the Bible refers to Israel as an Olive Tree Jeremiah 11:16 The Lord called thy name, A green olive tree, fair, and of goodly fruit: with the noise of a great tumult he hath kindled fire upon it, and the branches of it are broken.

      I hope this is helpful

    • Larry – Jesus said in Matthew 5:22,”But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgement, and whosoever shall say to the brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council, but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.”
      James 3:8,”But the tongue can no man tame, it is unruly evil, full of deadly poison.”
      Jesus also said in Matthew 7:16,”You will know them by their fruits.”
      Now please read what Paul said in 2 Timothy 3:16 about ALL scripture and then also read what he said in Hebrews 4:12.
