Daniel 2 and 7 Differences

The Difference in Daniel 2 and Daniel 7.

In Daniel 2 King Nebuchadnezzar has a dream of a statue that symbolized empires, that would rule the world, from the time of Babylon until the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Many folks teach that there are only four empires: Babylon, the Meads and the Persians, Greece and Rome. And that it ends there.

Then in Daniel 7, Daniel sees a vision of 4 beasts coming up out of the sea.

The commonly accepted explanation of this prophecy connects the lion is Babylon, the bear as Media-Persia, the leopard as Greece, and the ten-horned kingdom as Rome. But Daniel 8 reveals a ram fighting with a he-goat. Daniel 8:20 says, “The ram which thou sawest, having two horns, are the kings of Media and Persia, and the rough goat is the king of Grecia.”

This clarification contradicts the commonly accepted explanation. Another discrepancy is found when you consider the kingdoms of Babylon and Media-

Persia no longer exist. This creates a problem since the prophecy says the beasts of Daniel 7 represent nations who will be in power at the time of the second coming of Jesus Christ. Therefore, in consideration of Daniel 8:20, I think it is important to re-examine Daniel 2 and Daniel 7 to see if there are any differences between the two.

Important: If you do not understand the difference of these two chapters you will not be able to understand many prophecies in the Book of Revelation.
