Boys Will Be Boys…Not Anymore

I remember being a child and doing something that caught everyone’s attention because it reminded them of my dad.  Right after that I would hear the expression, “like father, like son.”  I remember being at a friend’s house, just a few houses down from where I lived, and we wanted to go back to my house but it started pouring rain.  We took off through everyone’s yard and darted through the rain.  When my mom saw me soaked and muddy, she questioned why in the world I would do that and my dad proceeded to tell her that I was a boy.  Unfortunately, boys being boys and sons being like their fathers may be a thing of the past.

In 2013, Jerry Brown, governor of California, decided boys are not boys and girls are not girls.  It was put into law that students could decide their gender.  Just say a guy thinks he is a girl, he can tell his teachers he would like to be addressed as a girl and he can even try out for female sports.  Seriously?!  How could something like this be true?  Not only is it scientifically wrong but it’s not even safe.  There are distinctions between males and females in chromosomes.  Women produce estrogen while men produce testosterone.  The bodies of men and women are different and they develop differently as well.  The gender of an individual is determined at birth by these factors, not by the individual’s preference.  No matter how much I wanted to think I was a girl, I would still be a boy.  I could have surgeries and take medications but my DNA will always prove I am a male.  To say we can choose our gender is absolutely ludicrous.  Aside from that, what if a guy wants to see the girls in the locker room?  He thinks he is a girl so that’s no big deal?  Really?! Any guy could do that and no one could prove anything against him because now they have to take the students word concerning their gender.  What happens if a guy doesn’t make the guys basketball team?  Does he decide to dominate the girls team because he suddenly he realizes he is a girl and that is why he couldn’t qualify for the guys team?  Not to mention the majority of students who actually accept their gender that have to feel the awkwardness and unnatural situations in restrooms and other places.  These are issues that schools in California will face now because of this illogical law.

The gender of a human being is not decided upon but it is determined by the Creator.  Our gender, just as our race, is something sacred and God-ordained.  If we stand against the idea of racism and believe that we are all truly created equal, how can we accept homosexuality or this transgender ideology?  The ethnicity of an individual is sacred as well as the gender of the individual.  How can we accept the God-determined race of an individual yet allow the desecration of one’s God-determined gender?  If one’s race is ordained we should not discriminate it and if one’s gender is ordained we should not violate it.  If one is born a male, he should be a male and vice versa concerning a female.  God made man and woman and said it was good.  Why change something good in the eyes of God?  It’s time to make a stand for truth.
