What do the Democratic Candidates Believe About Abortion?

Y= Supports Roe v Wade   N= Does not support Roe V Wade

Hillary Clinton: Y

In a speech last week, Hillary Clinton lamented that too many women are supposedly denied abortions. The Democratic presidential candidate came under fire for that pro-abortion comment, but she also is drawing widespread condemnation for another remark in the speech…The comment has Hillary Clinton essentially saying that Christians must be forced to change their religious views to accommodate abortions.

“Far too many women are still denied critical access to reproductive health care and safe childbirth. All the laws we’ve passed don’t count for much if they’re not enforced,” Clinton said, using the euphemism for abortion.

“Rights have to exist in practice — not just on paper,” Clinton argued. “Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will. And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed,:

That is not going over well with pro-life advocates…

Hillary Clinton made it clear that, if she is elected president of the United States, she will push unlimited abortion on demand. In her first speech as a presidential candidate, Clinton said too many women are “denied” abortions, even though the United States allows abortions virtually for any reason any time during pregnancy up to the day of birth in many states.

Clinton said “deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed” for the sake of giving “access” to women for “reproductive health care.” The comment was a shot across the bow at pro-life advocates and countries with pro-life laws.

“Far too many women are denied access to reproductive health care and safe childbirth and laws don’t count for much if they’re not enforced. Rights have to exist in practice — not just on paper,” Clinton said, according to a Daily Caller report.

During the speech, Clinton also touted the new pro-abortion Attorney General the Senate confirmed on Friday. “Finally, finally, Loretta Lynch will be able to assume the position she has trained her lifetime for,” Clinton said. And she condemned the Supreme Court’s Hobby Lobby decision protecting pro-life businesses from being forced to pay for abortion-causing drugs for their employees.

Recently, Clinton refused to say if she would support any limits on late-term abortions…

…Meanwhile, Clinton launched a new partnership with the Gates Foundation, that supports abortion. The Gates Foundation operated by Bill and Melinda Gates supports abortion and the Planned Parenthood abortion business.

Clinton says she admires Margaret Sanger, the racist founder of the Planned Parenthood abortion business.

In her role as Secretary of State Clinton pressed for abortion on an international scale. As recently as June 2012, she was upset the document the United Nations adopted at its Rio+20 conference did not promote abortion by inserting terms like “reproductive rights” into he language of the text…

Here are 10 times so far in the 2016 campaign that Hillary Clinton has showed her extremism on abortion.

…Hillary Clinton’s support for abortion is longstanding and unwavering. But many Americans may be surprised to learn just how extreme her position is.

A November 2014 poll conducted by The Polling Company found that just 13% of Americans believe abortion should be legal for any reason and essentially at any time during pregnancy. In other words, just 13% of Americans agree with Hillary Clinton on abortion.

10 Times Hillary Clinton Revealed How Extreme She is on Abortion:

1) “Religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed” to expand abortion.

At a speech to the Women in the World Conference in April 2015, Hillary Clinton argued, “Far too many women are denied access to reproductive health care (aka. abortion) and safe childbirth, and laws don’t count for much if they’re not enforced,” In order to expand worldwide access to abortion, she suggested that “deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.”

2) Clinton attacks bill to protect unborn babies from painful late abortions.

In May 2015, the U.S. House passed the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act to protect unborn babies 20 weeks and older from excruciating late abortions. In addition to a statement slamming House lawmakers for advancing the bill, Clinton tweeted, “When it comes to women’s health, there are two kinds of experts: women and their doctors. True 40+ years ago, true today.” Poll after poll shows a majority of Americans support such legislation, including a majority of women.

3) Clinton denies the science of fetal pain.

Substantial medical and scientific evidence shows unborn babies are capable of feeling pain by 20 weeks after fertilization, if not earlier. It is well-documented here: www.doctorsonfetalpain.com. This developmental milestone forms the basis for the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. Yet Clinton chooses to ignore these facts of human biology, claiming the bill is “not based on sound science” per a statement by her campaign.

4) Clinton Gets “Hero’s Welcome” at Pro-Abortion EMILY’s List Gala

Just weeks before the official launch of her 2016 campaign, Clinton headlined the 30th anniversary gala for EMILY’s List, the political action committee that backs female Democratic candidates who support abortion on demand. TIME Magazine reported that Clinton received a “hero’s welcome” at the event. At the event, EMILY’s List founder Ellen Malcolm told Clinton, “Just give the word and we’ll be right at your side.”

For a candidate to be supported by EMILY’s List, they must take a hard-line stance in opposition to any and all limitations on abortion and support full tax funding of abortion. Former Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) had been backed by EMILY’s List in her first election but after supporting a ban on partial-birth abortion, the group withdrew their support for future elections.

5) Planned Parenthood Employees Pour Cash to Clinton

Hillary Clinton enjoys substantial financial backing from employees of Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider. As the Washington Free Beacon reported, “The former secretary of state collected nearly $10,000 from nine individuals who work for the country’s largest abortion provider, including from several high ranking executives.”

6) Clinton defends Planned Parenthood after videos expose the organization’s trafficking of aborted baby body parts.

After the stomach-churning undercover videos of Planned Parenthood officials discussing the harvesting and pricing of aborted baby body parts, Clinton stood firm in support of the abortion provider. She went as far as to say, “I’m proud to stand with Planned Parenthood.” At a campaign event in South Carolina, she lamented, “I think it is unfortunate that Planned Parenthood has been the object of such a concerted attack for so many years.”

7) She even released a video message in support of Planned Parenthood.

In a video message, Clinton reiterated her support for the nation’s largest abortion provider and attacked opponents Scott Walker and Jeb Bush for backing efforts to defund the organization. She emphasized, “I’ll never stop fighting to protect the ability and right of every woman in this country to make her own health decisions.” (While she refused to use the word, the “health decision” she is referring to is abortion.)

8) StemExpress CEO Cate Dyer has endorsed Clinton for president.

The CEO of StemExpress, the company featured in several undercover videos for its participation with Planned Parenthood in trafficking baby body parts, has voiced her support for Hillary Clinton. “I’m a huge Hillary fan … she’s getting elected this time. It’s a done deal as far as I’m concerned,” she said.

9) Clinton attacked state-level efforts to enact commonsense protections for unborn children and their mothers.

Clinton’s campaign called the flurry of pro-life bills introduced in state legislatures “a dangerous trend.” Her campaign lamented, “In just the first three months of 2015, more than 300 bills have been introduced in state legislatures — on top of the nearly 30 measures introduced in Congress — that restrict access to abortion.” Among the measures being discussed on the state level are bills dealing with unborn pain, dismemberment abortions, informed consent, parental involvement, and webcam abortions.

10) Clinton likened pro-life Americans to terrorists

“Now, extreme views about women, we expect that from some of the terrorist groups, we expect that from people who don’t want to live in the modern world, but it’s a little hard to take from Republicans who want to be the president of the United States,” Clinton said at a campaign event in Ohio on August 27th.

We’re not even finished with 2015 yet and this isn’t an exhaustive list. It will be critically important to show the contrast between the extreme pro-abortion views of Hillary Clinton and those of the Republican nominee, who is likely to be pro-life.

Hillary Gives Her Most Specific Answer Yet On Whether She Supports Any Restrictions On Abortion

Hillary Clinton provided her most specific answer to date for when she believes that abortions can be restricted.

“There can be restrictions in the very end of the third trimester, but they have to take into account the life and health of the mother,” Clinton told “MTP Daily” host Chuck Todd in a two-part interview, the first segment of which aired Sunday.

In a typical pregnancy, the third trimester stretches from the 27th week to the 40th week. Medical professionals generally agree that fetuses are viable outside of the womb in the weeks before the beginning of the third trimester…

Bernie Sanders: Y

…Sanders elaborated on his pro-choice stance in a moving Huffington Post op-ed. “We are not returning to the days of back-room abortions, when countless women died or were maimed,” he wrote in 2012. “The decision about abortion must remain a decision for the woman, her family and physician to make, not the government.”

The Case for Bernie Sanders on Women’s Issues

…Bernie Sanders on Abortion, Planned Parenthood, and Birth Control

Sanders, bless him, is pro-choice and pro-access to birth control, and supports funding for Planned Parenthood.

After Republican senators moved to vote in favor of defunding Planned Parenthood in June (to the tune of $500 million), Sanders condemned the action as an “attack on women’s health.”

In 2000, Senator Sanders voted against making partial-birth abortions illegal, and in 2006, he co-sponsored a bill to make emergency contraception universally available in hospitals for victims of rape. (The bill never came to a vote.) He also voted yes on an act that would make it illegal for pharmacies to deny birth control to patients; the bill has not yet passed. And in 2011, Sanders co-sponsored a measure with Senator Dianne Feinstein to address the country’s rape-kit backlog…

Bernie Sanders defends abortion at pro-life, conservative Christian university

Democratic Presidential candidate, Senator Bernie Sanders spoke at a Christian university this week and was asked about his support for abortion. Sanders began his speech at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, by acknowledging that he has a different view on abortion than most of Liberty’s students.

“I came here today because I believe at the bottom of my heart that it is vitally important for those of us who hold different views to engage in civil discourse,” he began, saying it is important to find common ground.

In his speech, Sanders said the Golden Rule summed up his view of how you should treat people, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,” he said.

Reading from the book of Amos, Sanders called for all people to be treated with respect and dignity. This seems to fly in the face of his staunch support for abortion, as abortion procedures terminate the lives of actual human beings. And as we have learned from The Center for Medical Progress’s undercover videos, the body parts of those children may then be harvested for research.

Sanders quoted several scriptures in promotion of his socialist views while ignoring some of the most obvious passages against the taking of human life. On health care, Sanders stated, “When we talk about morality, what we are talking about is all of God’s children. The poor, the wretched, they have a right to go to a doctor when they are sick.”

His definition of family values was not to advocate protecting life inside and outside the womb, but to push for government-mandated, paid medical leave, which would allow mothers to stay home after birth:

In my view, there is no justice when low income and working class mothers are forced to separate from their babies one or two weeks after birth and go back to work because they need the money that their jobs provide.

… A majority of Christians would agree with you but would also go further and say that children in the womb need our protection even more. How do you reconcile the two in your mind?”

Sanders’ responded:

“Understand, this is an area where we disagree. I do understand and I do believe that it is improbable for the United States government or state government to tell every woman in this country the very painful and difficult choice that she has to make on that issue. And, I honestly don’t want to be too provocative here, but very often Conservatives say, “Get the government out of my life. I don’t want the government telling me what to do.” But on this very sensitive issue on which this nation is divided, a lot of people agree with you, a lot of people agree with me.”

But my view is, I respect absolutely a family that says, “No, we are not going to have an abortion.” I understand that. I respect that. I would hope that other people respect the very painful and difficult choice that many women feel they have to make and don’t want the government telling them what they have to do.

CNN reported that most in the crowd “were not convinced by the self-described socialist’s economic and social agenda”:

“The biggest inconsistency is the woman’s right to control her own body,” said Cameron Swathwood, a student [at Liberty] who attended the speech. “That assumes her body is the only one in question. … But if the unborn is in fact a human being which science and philosophy say it is, that killing the unborn is a grievous moral wrong.”
