Our world is absolutely awash with problems. Turn on the talk shows. It’s problem after problem after problem.
ISIS is cutting off people’s heads! There’s a horrible slaughter in California! There’s a terrible terrorist attack in France! Illegal immigrants are pouring across our borders! Somebody’s being killed in the Middle East every day!
Where are the Answers?
Politicians all claim they have the answers.
One says, “Just take away all the guns.”
Another says, “Give everybody a gun.”
Yet another says, “We need more surveillance.”
His opponent says, “Surveillance will subject us all to the government’s control.”
The Only Thing That will Work
Amid the clamor of all the voices comes a voice from the past. Jesus said, “You shall know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” Isn’t that what we all want? Freedom–freedom from fear; freedom of religion; freedom of speech; freedom from guilt. Jesus said it is ‘the truth’ that will make us free.
What is Truth?
We’ve all heard the arguments. Nobody knows the truth. Your truth may not be my truth. My truth may not be your truth. Every man is right in his own eyes!
But wait! Jesus spoke as though we could really know the truth. He said, “You shall know the truth…”
If there really is an absolute truth for mankind, where do we go to find it? Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life…”. (John 14:6)
Somebody has to say it. Jesus is the only answer to the vexing problems of our world! There is no other answer. You can discuss the world’s problems all day long, everyday, seven days a week. You’ll never find another answer. There is no other answer!
So How do We Learn “the Truth”?
Jesus said it this way, “If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” So we can know the truth through the teachings of Jesus Christ.

- Learn and practice the teachings of Jesus Christ in our own lives.
- Do everything within our power to spread the teachings of Jesus to the whole world. Jesus said it this way, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15)
