Poll: Drop in Support for Two-State Solution in Both Israelis and Palestinians

Researchers have found a drop in support for a two-state solution among both the Israeli and Palestinian populations.

Lead researchers Dr. Dahlia Scheindlin and Dr. Khalil Shikaki Tuesday revealed the results of a survey, conducted in June and early July, which included interviews with 1,200 Palestinians and 900 Israelis. According to the poll, 53 percent of Israelis and 52 percent of Palestinians support a two-state solution. The numbers represent a drop from a similar poll conducted in 2010, which found that 71 percent of Israelis and 57 percent of Palestinians supported two states.

The new poll also found that 71 percent of Palestinians and 72 percent of Israelis do not believe a Palestinian state will be created within the next five years.
